ClariMate is an electronic device designed for real time measurement of boehm clarinet
player input :
As every instrument and clarinet player are different they must customise their setting to the
clarinet used and the way of blowing :
The musician has to do a Training set, like that the device will detect their way of
fingering on their specific instrument without latency.
The musician has to adjust their breath parameters to be closer to their natural
playing style.
Try the following steps with your ClariMate connected to the app:
Page “Synth Controls” Check the ClariMate volume (should be about 85)
Page “Reed and Breath Controls” Check the Breath sensitivity (should be 100)
Page “Reed and Breath Controls” Check the Breath threshold (should be 10)
Add the Air adjuster plug diameter 2mm
Try the following steps with your ClariMate connected to the app:
Page “Synth Controls” Check the Stimulus volume (should be higher than 60)
Page “Training set”, Train or retrain the specific notes or the entire range of the
clarinet
Page “Training set”, check the percentage of the quality of note detection (this should
be above 97%), note that the level of noise in your immediate environment impacts
this level, in which case you will need to increase the stimulus level.
Page “Training set”, do a full training set
Page “Training set”, Check that all notes are detected with a quality over 99%
Page “Reed and Breath Controls”, decrease the breath sensitivity
Page “Reed and Breath Controls”, increase the breath threshold
Turn on your ClariMate in yellow mode (failsafe mode) by holding both the USB and
bluetooth buttons and pressing the power button.
Connect your ClariMate via the USB cable provided to a computer running the
ClariMate app
Update the firmware manually by going to Tools -> Download and Update Firmware
and follow the instructions
Make sure your ClariMate is fully updated via USB through a computer before
attempting to connect to Bluetooth.
Switch on your ClariMate in Bluetooth mode by holding the Bluetooth button and
pressing the power button.
Go to your device’s Bluetooth settings and pair with your ClariMate just like any other
Bluetooth device.
Open the ClariMate app and select your ClariMate
Note that If you are an Android user and do not see the ClariMate you may have to reset
your Android phone’s internet parameters, you can find guides for your specific Android
phone on the internet.
Charge your ClariMate for up to 8 hours
Turn on your ClariMate in yellow mode (failsafe mode) by holding both the USB and
bluetooth buttons and pressing the power button.
Connect your ClariMate via the USB cable provided to a computer running the
ClariMate app
Update the firmware manually by going to Tools -> Download and Update Firmware
and follow the instructions
